A very small, cast iron glue pot. This is a double boiler, with water placed in the base, and heated, and the glue melted in the inner container. It is a particularly small example. To the base it is marked ‘J & J SIDDONS WEST BROMWICH’ and it dates from c.1890. The company was founded in 1818, became Joseph and Jesse Siddons in 1846 and is still going today.
