A rare, Wedgwood white ware basket for draining curds. This is marked ‘WEDGWOOD’ and it dates from c.1810. During the early 19th century Wedgwood produced a selection of utility kitchen and dairy wares but these are now quite scarce. This is a shape that we have never seen before and it would have been used for draining curds when making cheese.
