Small, steel meat cleaver

An unusually small, steel meat cleaver. This was possibly made, as a special order, for someone with a very small hand as the handle is only 8.5cm. long. The cleaver is very heavy, sharp and functional. The handle is made of aluminium with copper rivets which gives a decorative appeal to the piece. It dates from c.1890 and is excellent condition, with just very minor pitting to the steel blade.
