A 19th century, steel meat cleaver. This piece is very attractive as well as being practical. The blade is cast in steel, and it has a brass and horn handle. The horn section is attached by copper and brass rivets. It dates from c.1860 and is in good, usable condition. There is very slight pitting to the steel, from use.
