A small, cast iron lace iron with detachable handle and two bases. Both ends of this iron are pointed and it would have been used for lace. The handle is detachable so that you can have one iron on the stove whilst the other is in use and you would not have to wait for the iron to reheat. It would probably have been used in a tailors or tailoress' workshop. There is no manufacturers mark but it is probably English and dates from c.1880. It is in excellent condition.
