A nineteenth century, miniature, cast iron box iron with a turned wooden handle. This iron is marked, on the slider at the back of the iron, but only a part of the mark is still legible as it has worn, with use. It reads ‘& T CLAR’ and it dates from c.1880. This would probably be the mark of one of the Clarke Companies from Wolverhampton. The iron is in excellent condition and it still has the brick which goes into the fire.
