A nineteenth century, miniature cast iron flat iron. This is marked in the casting with the number “1” so this would have been the smallest size made by this particular manufacturer. It dates from c.1880 and would have been used for ironing lace or other very delicate items. It is in good condition but there is slight pitting to the iron.
