An unusual, small sized, Victorian, cast iron charcoal iron with a wooden handle. This has a hinged lid which opens so that you can fill the interior with charcoal and there is a flap, over a hole at the back, which can be adjusted to increase the airflow. The tin heat shield on the top of the iron, is marked ”DRAGON NO 2” in the casting and the iron dates from c.1880. The wooden handle is quite charred, from use, but the piece is generally in good condition, commensurate with age and use.
