Code: H20913

A set of six Victorian picture tiles, made by Minton, and set in later, oak frames. Each tile is marked “MINTON CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT” and they date form c.1885. There is a separate, circular mark which reads “STOKE ON TRENT MINTON WALBROOK LONDON”. Each tile is printed, in brown, with figures in rural settings. These designs are probably by William Wise and from a series depicting country life. The transfer prints are all fine quality and all six tiles are in very good condition. There is just a little crazing to the glaze on each tile.
