A lovely, 18th century, oak trestle stool. This has nicely carved and shaped legs and the shaped hole in the top allows it to be easily picked up and carried. The wood has a fabulous, dark colour and patina and the stool probably dates from c.1750 although pieces like this were made for long periods of time so they can be difficult to date really accurately. It is in excellent condition, with just a little wear to the wood on the inside of one leg, where it joins onto the top.
