Boxwood Container for Inhaler

Boxwood Container for Inhaler

Code: J22625

SOLD

A turned boxwood container for a medicinal inhaler. This is probably English, although it was made for the French market, and it dates from c.1880. Originally it would have been sold by a pharmacist and would have contained a wax stick which was an inhaler to help aid head aches and migraines. There is slight damage to the screw thread on the inside of the box and there is no longer any inhaler left, which is probably a good thing.

Dimensions: Height 7.5cm. Diameter 2.8cm.
