A boxwood, lead workers chaser with a steel collar. This would have been used for shaping the corners of sheet lead on roofs. It is 19th century, probably dating from c.1860. This type of item is impossible to date accurately as similar forms were used over long periods of time. The wood has a beautiful colour and patina and shows a great amount of wear. It is in very good condition.
