Wooden Nutcracker Carved as a Hand

A lovely quality, 19th century wooden nutcracker in the shape of a hand. This is carved in walnut, it is probably French and it dates from c.1860. Usually, with this type of nutcracker, the hand d is holding a nut but this example is holding what appears to be a type of textured drinking vessel. It is very well carved, it is in excellent condition and the wood has a beautiful patina.
