A 19th century, French copper, rectangular casserole. This has very simple shaped brass handles which are attached with copper rivets. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper, has castellated seams around the base and up the side, and it dates from c.1880.  It would be large enough to cook a small chicken. The pan measures 31cm. long by 17.5cm. wide and 12.5cm deep. Overall, including the handles, it is 39cm. long by 16cm. high. It is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned, so that it can be used.
