An interesting, antique copper roasting pan with steel handles. This is made from quite a substantial gauge of copper and it has a wired rim. It has simple, steel handles but it also has steel banding under the pan. This raises the pan so it could be used right at the bottom of an oven. The pan has castellated seams around the base and up each corner and it dates from c.1860. It is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned. It is a useful size as it will fit into most modern ovens but it is large enough to take a good sized bird or joint of meat. The pan measures 39.5cm. long by 26.4cm. wide by 8cm. deep. Overall, including the handles, it is 42.2cm long by 12.5cm. high.
