A good quality, 19th century, English copper preserve pan. This is stamped, to the base, with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams. There is a further mark to the side, which is now quite worn, but it is the mark of a retailer in Cheapside. You can make out “ ********INK & CO CHEAPSIDE”. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1890. It has the typical English form of brass handles to either side and a rolled rim. It is in excellent condition.

Dimensions: Diameter of pan 37.8cm. Depth of pan 12cm. Overall width including the handles 49cm. Overall height including the handles 16cm.
