A most unusual, French copper asparagus boiler. The rounded section at the base would have been filled with water and then the small filter sits on a ridge above the water. The asparagus is then placed into the top section and steamed. It has simple brass fittings and it dates from c.1930. Although you can now buy pans for this specific purpose I have never seen an example from this period before. It is in excellent condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in very good, usable condition.
