A large, 19th century, English copper baking sheet. This would have been used for baking bread or biscuits. It is marked 'JONES BROS. 4 DOWN ST W' and it dates from c.1880. Although very simple, this type of baking sheet can be very hard to find. Often, when the kitchens of the stately homes were disbanded such items were discarded as they had little decorative appeal. They are, however, really useful if you enjoy baking. This one is in excellent condition and we have had it re-tinned so that it can be used.
