A good quality, 19th century, English copper kettle. This is stamped with the letters “E V W” within a bell shape. This is the mark of Edward Villers Wilkes who traded in Birmingham from the 1820’s until the early 20th century. This kettle is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and has castellated seams around the base and up the side. It dates from c .1860. It has a nicely shaped brass handle and a reeded, brass, mushroom shaped finial to the lid. It is in excellent condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in good, usable condition.

Dimensions: Height to shoulders 14.5cm. Height to top of handle 30cm. Diameter of kettle 21.5cm. Overall width to the tip of the spout 31cm.
