A large, and very heavy, French copper mixing bowl. This is well made, from an exceptionally heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams around the base and up the side. It dates from c.1860. The base is rounded so it would have been made as a mixing bowl rather than for cooking as it wouldn’t sit flat on a stove. There is very slight marking to the copper, from use, but generally it is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
Dimensions: Diameter 34.4cm. Width across the handles 40cm. Height of bowl 18cm. Overall height including the handles 21.2cm.
