A late 19th century, French copper sugar pan which has now been tinned for use as a saucepan or milk pan. Originally this would have been used for caramelising sugar but, when they tinned, this shape of pan with the spout, is ideal for hot drinks or sauces. The hollow handle allows the heat to disperse faster than with a solid handle. This example is made for a very heavy gauge of copper and the copper has a planished finish. It dates from c.1890 and is in excellent condition. The interior gas been re-tinned so that it can be used.

Dimensions: Diameter of pan 18cm. Depth of pan 10.5cm. Overall length of pan and handle 34cm. Overall width including the spout 20cm.
