An attractive shaped, 19th century, French copper kettle. This is stamped with a number ‘4’ to the base, and also to the top of the handle, which may relate to its’ capacity in litres, although I haven’t tested it. It is well made, from quite a heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1890. The finial on the lid is cast from brass and the folding handle is a simple, strap form. It is in excellent condition and the tinning, to the interior, is good enough for it to be used.
