A French copper sugar bowl with cast, brass handles. This is made from a substantial gauge of copper. It has no manufacturers marks and it dates from c.1910. It would have been used for caramelising sugar in the sweet making process. It is in very good condition with just a little pitting to the copper, in the base of the bowl, from use.
The bowl measures 38.5cm. diameter by 21cm. deep. Overall, including the handles, it is 42cm. wide by 26cm. high.
