A french copper, sugar spinner with a long, turned wooden handle. This would have been used for making sugar baskets and other fancy sugar work, hence the fine, pointed spout for drizzling the caramelised sugar. It is a very attractive, and decorative shape, and it is made from a substantial gauge of copper. It dates from c.1880 and it is in very good condition.
