A good quality, 19th century, French copper egg bowl. This type of bowl, which was never tinned, was used for whisking eggs. This example is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1870. There is a brass loop, for hanging, which is attached by a heart shaped copper fitting. It is in excellent condition.
