A very good quality, 19th century, French copper stockpot. This is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams around the base and up the side. It has attractively shaped brass handles to either side of the pot and also to the lid, and it dates from c.1860. Both lid and pot are stamped with the letter ‘B’ which would have related to a previous owner. It is in excellent condition and, although it hasn’t recently been re-tinned, the tin is still in good, usable condition.
Dimensions: Diameter of pot 24.3cm. Depth of pot 25cm. Overall width including the handles 34.6cm. Overall height including the handles 27cm.
