A huge, 19th century, two handled copper sugar bowl with a rounded base. This is French and it dates from c.1860. It would have been used for caramelising sugar, in the sweet making industry, over an open fire. The exterior of the bowl has marking to the copper which would be the result of this use over a long period of time. The bowl is in very good condition with this wear from use being its’ only fault.
