A very good quality, 19th century copper pan with pouring spout and turned, wooden handle. This is marked “JONES BROS DOWN ST. W” and it dates from c.1860. It is also stamped with the number "6 1/2” on the handle fitting and this relates to the diameter of the pan in inches. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams around the base and up the side. Originally this type of pan was not tinned inside as they were made as sugar pans. This one has now been tinned so that it can be used for sauces and hot drinks. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 16.5cm. Depth of pan 11cm. Overall length of pan and handle 45.5cm.
