A large, 19th century, French copper pie plate. This is interesting in that it is made from two pieces of copper which are joined together by a brazed seam. This adds character to the piece. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper, which has a slightly planished finish, and there is a heavy brass loop attached for hanging. The fitting to this is quite rustic and the piece dates from c.1850. It is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
