Large, oval gratin dish

A large, 19th century, French copper gratin dish. This could be used either for gratins or as a baking tray as it is large enough to contain a chicken or small fish. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper and has substantial, folding brass handles to either end. It dates from c.1890. It is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned, so that it can be used.
