A super quality, lidded copper tankard. This is marked “RAUEL” on the rim. I can find no reference to this mark and would be very interested if anyone out there knows anything about it. The tankard is very well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it has a castellated seam up the side. The copper has a planished finish and the lid has a nicely shaped, and well made, hinge mechanism. The piece is in excellent condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in very good, bright, usable condition. It is probably French and dates from c.1870.
Dimensions: Height 21cm. Diameter at base 15.2cm. Width 20.5cm.
