A very unusual, small, English copper preserve pan with a pouring spout. Preserve pans were made in large quantities but they are not often seen with pouring spouts. This is a particularly small example and it dates from c.1860. The pan measures 27cm. diameter by 10.5cm. deep. It has the standard form of English, brass handles to either side and overall, including the handles, it is 15.4cm. high by 31.2cm wide. The side of the pan is nicely engraved with ‘E.F.H.’. These would have been the initials of a previous owner. There is slight pitting to the base of the pan, from use, but other than that it is in very good condition.
