A nineteenth century, French copper roasting pan with brass handles. This is quite light in weight and has simply shaped, rustic handles. It has brased seams around the base and up the side and there are further brasing lines on the side of the pan which are all from the manufacture. It is probably blacksmith made. The base is slightly wobbly and has minor denting. There is a small split on the rim and there is also pitting to the interior of the piece. The pan measures 45cm. long by 31cm. wide by 4cm. deep and overall, including the handles, it is 44.8cm long by 10.7cm high. The interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
