An interesting, French copper, 2 handled sugar bowl. This type of bowl was, and still is, used by confectioners for caramelising sugar. This one is quite a rustic example, with a rolled rim, copper handles and wide, castellated seams. It dates from c.1860 and would have been country made. It measures 35.3cm diameter by 17.7cm. high and the total dimensions, including the handles are 23.2cm. high by 37cm wide. It is in very good condition.
