An English copper, shallow saute pan. This piece is marked ‘JOHNS BROS DOWN ST W.’ And it dates from c.1860. This very shallow form of pan, with the straight handle, was often sold with a slightly deeper pan of the same type and this shallow one would also form the lid to the slightly deeper pan. It is rare to find the two parts still together as they were often used individually and have become parted. This piece is in excellent condition and it has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
