A very small, round bottomed, French copper sugar bowl. This type of bowl was used for caramelising sugar but this is a particularly small example. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper, has a rolled rim, simple bronze handles with oval shaped fittings and it dates from c.1860. It is stamped ‘D L’ and these would be the initials of a previous owner. There is some pitting to the interior, from use, but generally it is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 26cm. Depth of pan 8cm. Overall width including the handles 28cm. Overall height including the handles 13cm.
