A French copper gratin, or small baking dish. This is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1920. It has attractively shaped, solid, fixed, brass handles to either end. The letters “ B T H S” have been stamped to the underside of the dish and there is a very worn mark to the side. This can no longer be made out. There is scratching to the copper, from use, particularly to the underside, but otherwise it is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used. This type of dish is ideal for something like dauphinoise potato or a vegetable bake.
Dimensions of dish: Length 34cm. Width 19.5cm. Depth 5.2cm. Overall length including the handles 40cm. Overall height including the handles 7.4cm.
