A small, French copper casserole. This is made from a very heavy gauge of copper, it has castellated seams around the base and up the side, and it dates from c.1870. It has the typical, ornate, French form of brass handles to both sides and also to the lid. It is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used. It is marked, on the side of the pan, with a number '18' which relates to the size.
The pan measures 18.8cm diameter by 11.7cm high and the overall dimensions, including the handles, are 27.7cm wide by 14.2cm. high.
