A very good quality, 19th century, French copper saucepan and cover. This pan is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and the copper has a slightly planished finish. It dates from c.1890. It is marked, to the side, with a number '16' and this relates to the diameter of the pan. The flat lid, which sits across the top of the saucepan is designed so that it will fit a pan of this size but can also be used on smaller pans. The pan measures 16cm. diameter by 9.8cm. deep and the overall length of the pan and handle is 31.2cm. The piece is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
