A small, 19th century, French copper saucepan and cover. Both the pan and cover are stamped with a number ’12’, which relates to the internal diameter of the pan in centimetres, and the pan is also stamped “GRANDS MAGASINS DU LOUVRE PARIS”. There is a further mark, which is cast in the steel handle, but this is now quite worn and you can only make out “PARIS” as the last part of the mark. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper, has attractively shaped steel handles, and dates from c.1880. It is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 12.5cm. Depth of pan 6.3cm. Overall length of pan and handle 25.2cm.
