A small, 19th century, French copper egg bowl. This type of bowl was never tinned and they were used for whisking egg whites when making meringues. This one is a particularly small size, making it ideal for household kitchen use. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. It has a heavy brass loop, for hanging, and a wired rim. There is very slight denting around the handle fixing but other than that it is in very good condition.
