Code: L23675
An unusually tall and narrow, French copper stockpot with a folding steel handle. This type of pot was designed for use over an open fire and would have hung on a tripod. As the base is slightly uneven it would not be functional on a flat topped range but it could still be used on gas or, for its’ original purpose, out of doors over coals. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams. There is an attractive, brass handle to the lid and the piece dates from c.1860. There are a couple of very tiny dents, from use, but generally it is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
Dimensions: Height 35.4cm. Diameter 21cm. Width 26cm.
