An unusual, 19th century, copper skimmer. This is very primitive in style and was probably blacksmith made. The copper skimmer has very wide slats and is made from two pieces of copper with a brased join. The wooden handle is small and very basic and the piece has a very naive charm. It is in good condition, with just a small split in the wooden handle. It is French and dates from c.1860.
