An unusual, 19th century, copper steamer bowl. This would have sat onto a saucepan and have been used for melting chocolate or steaming vegetables. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and has beautifully castellated seams around the base and up the side. There is a substantial brass ring handle attached so that it can hang when not in use. It is French and dates from c.1860. It is in excellent condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
Dimensions: Diameter 22.8cm. Depth 13.4cm.
