Unusual preserve pan
A large, and very deep, French copper preserve pan. This is unusual in that it is about twice the depth of a normal preserve pan. It is made from a very heavy gauge of copper, it has castellated seams around the base and up the side, and it has the typical French form of brass handle to either side. It dates from c.1860. There is very slight denting to the base, from use, but generally it is in very good condition. The pan is 42cm. diameter by 26.5cm. high and the overall size, including the handles, is 44.5cm. wide by 29.5cm. high.
