A fine, 18th century, Wedgwood basalt, two handled vase. This vase is marked ‘WEDGWOOD’ and it dates from c.1790. It also has an impressed tool mark, a large impressed letter ‘V’ and and incised number ’905’. It is quite plain in form, with sprig moulded borders and further sprigging around the handles. The sprigging is excellent quality, the basalt is well potted and the shape of the vase is quite uncommon. It is in excellent condition.
