Pair of Wedgwood Campana vases

Pair of Wedgwood Campana vases

Code: H20544

SOLD

A fine pair of early 19th century, Wedgwood basalt vases. Each vase is marked “ WEDGWOOD” and they date from c.1820. The classic, campana shaped vases have raised shoulders which are decorated with a foliate border and the bodies of the vases are decorated with classical maidens offering sacrifices. All of the reliefs are very good quality.

There are slight faults to both pieces. One vase has two small chips to the inside of the rim and the lid has been cracked straight through the middle. The lid to the second vase has been restored but the vase is in good condition. These faults are not very obvious, but can be seen in the images, and they are a good looking, decorative pair of vases.

Dimensions. Each vase: Height 23cm. Diameter 12.8cm.
