A small, Wedgwood, black basalt jardiniere. This is marked “WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. It is also impressed with a number ‘5’ which relates to the diameter of the jardiniere. It is decorated, in relief, with five different classical reliefs beneath garlands of grapes and vines which hang from lion’s head masks. To the rim is a narrow border of flowers. The reliefs are good quality and the piece is in excellent condition.
