A super quality, black basalt seal set in pinchbeck. This is marked “Wedgwood & Bentley” and it is also impressed with a pattern number ’33’. It dates from c.1775. The seal is moulded with a seated classical figure and a suit of armour and the moulding is extremely well detailed as one would expect from a piece of this period. It is set in pinchbeck, as a fob to hang on a watch chain. There are a couple of small repairs to the pinchbeck setting but the basalt seal is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 2.7cm. Width 2.5cm. Depth (including setting) 3cm.
