Code: G20016
An unusual, Wedgwood, basalt biscuit barrel with a silver plated rim and lid. Biscuit barrels are relatively common in blue jasper but are not often seen in basalt. This example is an interesting shape and the relief, which consists of garlands of laurels hanging from bows, compliments the shape well. It is marked “WEDGWOOD” and dates from c.1860. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height to the top of the lid 15.5cm. Diameter 12.5cm.
